The pronounced edges of the chisel sweeps,  the texture and the antiquing and the "wear" create a Santa carving that captures the eye and the imagination.  

Hand carved by chisel from a 2" square block of Pennsylvania basswood, this classic pencil Santa stands just about 12.25" in height.  His painted eyes give the appearance he's had some serious coffee to stay awake on the long overnight journey

His robe and hat are a muted metallic antique gold and the trim is a metallic red.  The antiquing gives him a warm glow and his beard texturing pops from the antiquing that settled in the carved grooves.  A very unique piece that you will love to display!
